Saw a bug on baseboard when getting ready for bed our first nights stay. We've stayed at the Aqua Palms previously without any problems. I called the front desk and asked for someone to come to our room. I also googled bugs, including bed bugs..since there's been so much publicity about them lately and I can't stand bugs! Two male employees came to our room and I showed them the bedbug. I was told it was a roach. I told them that it was a bedbug and they told me that I didn't know what I was talking about.. so I showed them the photo on my cell phone. It clearly is a bedbug! We packed, went downstairs to check out and was told that I couldn't have a refund. I was told to call the hotel manager the following day. I called and the manager refused to consider a refund, stating that his employees said that it was a roach. He also stated that the particular room had recently been upgraded with new furniture and bedding..which was untrue. The furniture and bedding was the same as each and everyother time we've stayed there..a bit warn! Luckily, I saved the bug..I returned to the front desk and opened the tissue to show the manager. He quickly took a photo of it and asked me to put it away or he could throw it away for me.... He gave me the refund.

The entire 18th floor is infested with bedbugs. We resided in Apartment 1810 under 2011 and we got bit all over our bodies. The sprayed once, but this does not help since the entire floor needs to be sprayed. I know apartment 1809 and 1812 had problems too. Kids got bit up all over their bodies and tenants had to move out ...new tenants, same problem. I also talked to five other people at the same floor with problems. It states in the contract that it’s the tenant’s responsibility to take care of the problem (not the owner) and it can get expensive.

Stayed there in January 2012 (9-18). On our first wake up we found a dead bed bug and I had bityes on my leg. Reported it to management and they have done nothing but lie and deny. Do a google search of the words equus and bedbugs - I am not alone. Avoid this hole!

Checked 3rd floor room for bedbugs upon arrival and found live bug, and lots of feces on sheets. Caught bug and took it to reception desk. They offered another room on 2nd floor, but found evidence of bedbug feces on bed linens there as well.

When i woke up the first morning I noticed a bite on my right ankle, two on mt shin and one on my calf. The second morning there were six bites on the left outer calf, one on the left shin, two on the left outer thigh and later in the day I noticed two on my left arm. I informed the hotel a few days after we checked out, due to the fact that I realized I didn't have any futher bites on me. The only bites I have still today four days after check out are the original bites from our stay at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani and let me tell you they are ulgy and itch something awful. When I did call the Hotel and spoke with the manager she informed me that she would have to speak with housekeeping and would give me a call back on Monday or Tuesday. If I do not hear from her by Wednesday I will call her back. I do have pictures i'm just not sure how to get them off my phone. I'll have to wait until I return home. Kelley

i stayed at this terrible hotel at the 7 january 2010. i could not sleep for a few hours due to constantly itching and scratching. i look closely with flash light no the sheets, and could see spots, as well as red spots on my skin.

Stayed there Dec. 25 and 26. Was bitten on both nights in bed. At checkout I reported the incident and showed the bite marks. The hotel rep did a cursory exam of the room and contents and took photos of the area. After about 45 minutes their conclusion was that there was no bed bug problem; it must have been insects or something outside the hotel. On return to Houston (Dec. 28) I went to a physician at Kelsey-Seybold. He immediately looked at the bite pattern and stated emphatically that they were bed bug bites.

I was suspicious there might be bedbugs because I had seen some tiny spots on the sheets that looked like blood stains. They were very tiny and only a couple so we blew it off. I did notice what looked like a bug bite after a couple of nights but figured it was just a mosquito or something. Then the morning we were leaving we saw one on one of the blankets and snapped a picture........I was horrified!

Our whole building was infested with bed bugs. It has been an on going problem that they're working on. I've thrown out almost all of my furniture and refuse to get more furniture until i know for sure that this problem has been eliminated.

I previously posted my incident on this site. The bites gave me a rash and ear infection giving me a lot of pain. I went to the doctor for antibiotics and some pain killers. That hotel was horrible.
