Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

My husband and I stayed here one night (3/10/16) on our way back to the mainland from a 3 month tour through NZ. The next day I noticed a few red, raised bumps on my legs and arms and attributed them to possible mosquito bites that I hadn't noticed previously, as I did not see any in our room. However, by the next day after we returned home, I noticed the same type of bumps were appearing all over my back, hips, legs, arms, and neck. I have approximately 50 bites that itch terribly. I am a registered nurse and I have no doubt I am experiencing a reaction to bed bug bites. My husband was unaffected, and I understand this to a common occurrence, as he may have been bitten also, but did not have the same reaction as I.

4/20/26 approximately 10:30pm. A live bedbug was found in the bed. Reported to front desk staff immediately and was told that “I guess we can move you to a new room” but that a staff member needed to verify the bug before they could do that. It took 40 minutes for a staff member to come to the room. Staff was incredibly indifferent to the situation and didn’t seem to care about a resolution.
