I was bitten by bed bugs 3 days after I moved into my apartment. The leasing management sent out an exterminator the same day, only after we insisted they come out same day. The only way our complex compensated us was to pay our $250 laundry bill. Not offer a month of no rent or anything. We asked if they had reports of bed bugs in the complex and the property manager told us we were the first ones. I doubt that since the pest control seem to know his way around very well.
Thanks for the bed bugs and not thinking it was a big deal Equity!!

I saw bedbugs within days of moving in to Senimary Hills. I was told my apartment needed 4 treatments which would take months. I left in 2 weeks. I was being eaten alive! Medical bills for numerous infected bites, and moving expenses and special bedbug mattress covers were not reimbursed. Plan to sue.

We had found Bedbugs in August. We just got the clearance that we no longer have them. We had got them thru a neighbor in the other building. How we found out was helping them move. Aparentley there are a lot of outbreaks here.

Moved into the apartment and less than a month later (after zero traveling) we were experiencing biting at night. After 1 month we spotted a bedbug at the foot of our bed, and shortly after began to notice them on the walls in multiple rooms throughout the apartment

Days Inn Alexandria
110 S Bragg St West
Alexandria, VA
We travel extensively and have trusted the Wyndham Hotel Group, which owns the Days Inn. This particular hotel is, indeed, older, and could use some plaster work. We stayed for 4 nights in Room 328. It had a rusty sink, but frankly, the room smelled fresh (no masking odor) and appeared OK. On our first full day there, I wondered where I got so many mosquito bites. On our second day, I kept thinking that mosquitoes were a problem, but by the fourth day, both my cheeks were swollen with bites and there were numerous bites on both forearms and on knuckles on both hand. I had never seen bed bug bites before, so when I returned to our room in the evening, I researched the subject. Pictures on the internet were identical to mine. Because it was late, we asked for a room change, which we were given (329). The next morning I had even more bites. Now that I've learned more about the subject, I have learned how easy it is to carry these bugs from place to place, so possibly 329 inherited the bugs from 328. I don't know. What I do know is that I was covered with welts. As it stands, the manager (who was off), is supposed to issue a 4-night refund to Hotels.com, and then that refund should be passed to me this coming Monday. I'll certainly let everyone know whether I'll have any difficulty getting it. Booking agents (on and offline) need to have a bed bug registry. I probably would have had an easier time getting a refund had I booked directly with this chain. Under all circumstances, rooms should not be rented that have history of bed bugs and assurances need to be given to guests that their rooms are bed bug-free. My costs? We had to destroy all of our suitcases and we are very afraid of having brought them home. Needless to say, we didn't bring any suitcases in and washed all clothing before stepping in our door. Today, we left our car out in the blazing sun as high heat is supposed to disinfect it. As for this Days Inn, it lodging was generally OK and had a reasonable rate for this very popular city. Its staff was friendly. Yes, the office main doors close in the evening, but its counter staff let me in and they were very helpful and concerned. This hotel needs to prove to future guests, however, that their rooms don't have bed bugs.

Key Towers
6060 Tower Ct
Alexandria, VA
Do not even visit this place! I reported bed bugs in September, they started "treating" one room a week, always the same, despite the fact that they've come in through the vents, and refused to disclose if any other action was being taken. After repeatedly requesting a transfer of lease, and 12 weeks of ineffective "treatments", I found out five floors have them, nothing is being done to resolve the issue, the apartment manager finally sent out a notice to tenants November 18, brought in exterminators to lift the mattress and say "nope you don't have them" even though they're crawling on walls and ceilings in broad daylight. I had to get a lawyer to dissolve my lease completely, and Aimco says I still owe them a relet fee. Stay away from Aimco!
The best part? When management was confronted with the fact that tenants were aware of the situation, they said this is why they don't like tenants talking to each other.

Morningside Apartments
6200 Lachine Lane
Alexandria, VA
These apartments have a bad infestation with bedbugs. We have been dealing with them for about a year. The complex had been good about responding to our individual complaints and providing exterminators, but they have not been effective in facing and fighting the overall problem. They need to inspect EVERY apartment and spray every apartment, infested or not. Because of the age of these apartments, it seems the bedbugs easily hide in the walls and move from apartment to apartment. If one place gets sprayed, they hang out next door until it is safe to go back!
