I was traveling with my mother and aunt and stopped in the Days Inn at 4248 Hwy 221 South in Marion, NC. The hotel was fairly decent as hotels go. That is, until we woke up to find that the beds were filled with bedbugs. We pulled back the bedspread and saw about 10-12 very large bedbugs crawling all over the bed. We were quite disgusted and left as soon as possible. We saw the housekeeper approaching our room as we exited and reported the large amounts of bedbugs in the beds. We had an empty water bottle in which we had captured several of the bedbugs and we showed her the bottle. The housekeeper let out a chuckle and said that she sees them all the time and that we should report it to the manager. I went to the office to check out and the manager was nowhere to be found. After going outside and walking around for several minutes, the manager finally appeared from somewhere and slowly made his way to the office. I reported the large amounts of bedbugs to the manager and he just stared at me blankly and did not say one word. He just printed my receipt and said "Sign This." I told him that we were pretty upset about the bedbugs and that I would be reporting this to Days Inn's corporate office and to the NC Board of Health. The manager still didn't say a word. At this point I was stunned by his lack of a response and I exited the office. I may never again stay at a Days Inn due to the lack of concern that the manager showed for our issue.
