Woke up at 12:30 in the morning to severe itching. Found the bugs crawling under my pillow. Did not take the time to check the rest of the bed. Had severe bites which swelled up (my upper inside of my arm was completely swollen). Was moved to a new room where the clerk helped me check the room for more bugs. Did not find any. Hotel refunded my room and valet parking!

Night of December 5th, I was in my room at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Southfield, watching TV. I was sitting on the bed and out of the corner of my eye I saw something crawling towards me from the side of the bed. I scooped the bug up in a cup, covered, and looked it up bed bugs online to confirm that it was indeed a bed bug. The bug was indeed a bed bug. I was immediately moved to a different room on a different floor and end of the building by the helpful staff. The following morning Management was very helpful, courteous, and polite and informed me that they had already contacted the exterminator to handle the situation. I hope and believe the hotel is doing everything to properly handle the situation, but am doubtful as to whether I'd ever stay here again due to this incident. Hotel room has headboards with about a 1/4 inch gap fastened to the wall, making it an additional hideaway for these critters (in addition to mattress and boxspring).

Stayed 4 nights. No noticeable bed bug incidents but 2 nights after arriving home I had 7 bites in one night. My half unpacked suitcase was on bed beside me. Never had a problem in my home in 30 prior to this hotel stay.

WE woke up about 4am on Oct 1 , 2011 and we noticed a bug on the bed. When we started to look closer we noticed more and more of them. There were at least 15 on one bed and 15 on the other that we saw. The hotel moved us to a new room and did not charge us for the room, but I was to disguised to stay and left the hotel. Now I am taking all precautions to keep them from coming home with me!!! This is a nightmare!!!!!

My boyfriend and I arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in Detroit late Saturday night, and woke up the next morning to find bedbugs crawling on the sheets and the pillows. I was horrified and disgusted! Contacted the front desk and they came up with a cup and collected 2 of the bedbugs. We received a refund for the room (but not the valet parking) and the manager sent us a certificate for a free nights stay in one of their suites. By Monday I began to notice many swollen red and incredibly itchy welts all over my body (apparently bedbug bites can take up to 9 days to show up), and now, more than a week after our stay at this hotel, I am still suffering from the horrible itchy bedbug bites that just won’t go away and won’t stop itching. My boyfriend was bitten as well, but his bites were not a severe. This has been the worst hotel experience I have ever had! Will not be staying there again, not even with the certificate for a free nights stay.

I arrived at Marriott at the Renaissance Center on the evening of June 4, 2011. In the morning of June 5, I noticed two bites on my neck and at first I thought they were mosquito bites since I took a walk outside in the morning. The bites got swollen and red and very itchy during the day. The night of June 5 was horrible, and I woke up several times during the night because of itchiness all over my body. The next morning (June 6) I found 7 other bites besides the 2 on the neck. There were 3 on both forearms, one on the thigh, one on hips, and two on waist. They got very red and swollen and itchy, very uncomfortable. I reported to the hotel manager, they changed me to a different room. I haven't had any new bites since I've been to the new room. For the old bites, I'm spending my 6th night here (4 nights since I got the bites), the swollen has been eased, but they turned to purple-ish bruises (and hardened skin in those area too). I'm really unhappy about this.

I noticed a bug crawling on the pillow, I looked under the sheet and saw two more. It was on the first floor. I notified the front desk, they put me in another room and refunded my money the next day. LONG NIGHT

Bitten; apt infested; management only sprays one apt at a time and missing several, so each month, week, day new incidents are occurring landlord is scum and only concerned about payment, several tenants have moved and are moving, including me!
