Arrived Wed, Feb 22nd at the Sarasota Suites, confirmation #18476. stayed 7 nights, checking our Feb 29th AM. I(Peter) had looked at a room back in Oct 2011 facing the pool and found it OK. Was told at that time that all rooms had been redone! Wrong! Called Alan the "manager" early on Wed, Feb 22 to reconfirm reservation for that day. He said would do his best to get us a room in front!!

When we arrived in late evening, the female Front desk person said no such room wa available. So we wound up in room 224 in the back. This room had NOT been redone. On Thurs night we returned to find the room had not been cleaned so I went to the Front Desk, was told weekly guests got maid service only once a week. OK how about clean towels. She said anttime just bring dirty ones to desk. Now we know why we ony paid $356.79 for the week!!!

So our sheets were changed on Tue, Feb 28, the day before we checked out. By Wed early AM I was itching some what. By noon I was itchng badly. Stopped at Drug Store and bought Benedryl itch cream. Could not sleep Wed night and hd red blotchs all over my body.

Thurs early AM went to Medical Clinic. Received shot in the behind and 2 prescriptions. The Doctor said I had a dose of Bedbugs, which by this time I pretty much knew. Am still on predizone.

Called hotel Fri March 3, talked to Alan the manager. He called me back at 1:30 PM. Told me that the exterminators would be there and that he was not to have room tuched. Alan said he would call back when he knew more. Am still waiting Wed,March 7th.

I checked into this hotel for an extended stay due to a construction job. The first week and one half I was there, I worked night shift. The next week, I began to notice a breakout on my stomach and back of tiny red bumps. This went on for several days; I called and discussed this with my wife and we thought maybe it was from the detergent that was used in the linens. I contacted the staff and spoke with them relaying something just wasn't right with the room. One of the staff came up to the room with me and while looking between the mattress, I identified what appeared to be a small flea. That staff said it was just ash…I told her there wasn't any way that was an ash. I kept pulling the mattress back and found a mass of what was identified as bed bugs. I was freaking out at this point because I had never experienced this type of situation. The staff immediately moved me to another room on the 1st floor and washed all clothing. I tore the beds apart in the room and didn't find anything in the new room. As the job is completed I will be checking out in the morning, the 30th and traveling back to South Carolina. Checked into 420 on 8/09 Meeting 08/10 Worked night shift though 08/18 Started breaking out on 21st --- Moved into new room 24th ---- No compensation was offered to me for my stay
