I checked in to the Rodeway Inn Boulder Broker on July 14, and found blood spots between the mattress and box springs in both beds in the room, typical of bed bug activity, according to the EPA web site which has photos of matching appearance. The hotel was not able to confirm that the room was free of bed bugs, so after confirming that they had no other rooms available and that I had no other lodging choices in the area besides extremely expensive luxury lodging that I could not afford, I accepted the room. I did not spot any actual bed bugs, but, again, the photos at the EPA web site indicate that the visual symptoms are classic. I did show this report to the desk clerk and asked if he disputed any of this statement, and he said that it was accurate.

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29, 2011. My daughter had bite marks show up on Sunday. We didn't think it was bed bugs at that time. Sunday morning at approximately 0500 I had a bug crawl across my face. I flung it off and it landed on the sheet. I got up and caught it and put it in a cup. I realized at that time it was bed bugs. I quickly got my daughter, 5month old son and husband up. I pulled back covers and caught a total of 3 mature bed bugs and 4 tiny red ones. I took my daughter who at that point had 69 bites going from her face, to the back of her neck, down her shoulder and arm to the front desk along with the bugs I captured. Although our money was refunded, the man working behind the counter had the nerve to actually curse at me because "I was taking it out on him". They messed up our weekend and we had a days worth of work to do on our personal belongings so we didn't bring them to our own home. DO NOT stay here!!!!
