Dear Reader, At the beginning of this year, while living at Park Sierra Apartments in Canyon Country, My girlfriend and I experienced some troubling affairs that set Us back so far- We're only now back up and on Our feet. To begin with- the management for Park Sierra, refused to make any repairs to Our apartment for the six months We'd already lived there. Repairs like a faulty dishwasher, broken lights on the stairs or patio, a broken ladder blockade that allowed strangers access to Our roof, etc! This is nothing!.. We threatened to stop paying rent until they fixed everything- but went ahead and made Our payments. From the very beginning of Our stay at Park Sierra (Aug of 2009), both My girlfriend and I became sick and broke out in horrible rashes. My girlfriend lost two jobs, due to such, and visited hospitals numerous times. I visited the hospital two times, Myself, and each time- they told Us both that We were dehydrated and couldn't tell Us why. I beg your pardon, but to make a long story short- from the first day We moved into Park Sierra- We had become hosts to billions of Bed Bugs! To make matters worse- the Management at the park made things all but epic.. When We found actual evidence that the apartment was infested- We went to them immediately! That same day- a leak formed in Our downstairs garage and destroyed about 2500 Books, TVs, Records, etc. We came to them with both issues on the same day.. Our rabbit had just died from unknown causes- what would later would be revealed was that she died after being sucked dry by these bugs. Much to Our surprise- the office had a form for their Bed Bug Exterminators, out and ready, on the desk. They instructed Us to remove ALL fabrics from the house, all food from cupboards, remove all items from shelves, drawers, etc and to move all the furniture two feet from the walls. They instructed Us to do such, that night- as their exterminator would be there the next day (second week of Jan 2010) and We'd need to exit the house with Our pets for 6+ hours. The following day came, and when We returned home- there was no sign of any extermination. We went to the office and were told that they made a mistake- and their people would be back the following week. They wouldn't have told Us anything if We hadn't gone to the office and asked Ourselves. When We asked them what We should do until then (what with Our whole apartment flooding, infested and completely packed up and dismantled).. they simply said: "Sorry. Can't help you." They said they'd fix the leak.. but We had to stay there until they're people came to bomb the house. They "fixed" the leak the following day- but they simply moved the downfall to the area of Our garage that they'd instructed Us to move all of Our household items.. due to the exterminating. So- "fixing the leak" literally ruined 50% of Our personal belongings. Over the next week- We were forced to stay in hotels, during the same rains that caused leaks in Our house. We cleaned every item of Fabric in Our house- only to bring it back to an infested house and contaminate it once again. We lost more than I care to remember (still documented EVERYTHING) and didn't have a place to stay without running the risk of being eaten alive again. Finally- almost two weeks later- they had the exterminator come. When We again left for 6+ hours and rewashed Every piece of fabric in Our house- We returned home to find a form on Our door. The exterminator in question left the form on Our door- a form that stated a CA law requiring them to tell Us what chemicals, etc, they used that day. The form was blank, not filled out, and offered nothing that the back of it stated it should. I know I said I'd make it a short story- but this is the best I can do! =( .. The following night- after not being able to sleep in Our own bed for almost two weeks.. We awoke, late at night, to a Living Nightmare!! We found bedbugs EVERYWHERE! Way, Way, WAY more than before! All over the ceiling, beds, books, floor.. Everything!.. We made a makeshift bed, after consulting Google, in the living room and took shelter there for the night. The following day- the office was informed. They, in so many less words, explained that it'd be weeks before they could exterminate again. That the leak would "fix its self.".. and that We'd have to "make due until then." They also were happy to schedule the other repairs to Our apartment.. in no more than three weeks! Now- at that time, We hadn't paid them rent for over a month and refused to do so. We lost 99.9% of Our clothing, Our furniture, Our jobs, Our Health, Our Rabbit, Our faith in SCV's "Healthy Lifestyle Atmosphere".. We were out a weeks worth of staying at a hotel. We lost thousands and thousands of books (I sell books/media via Internet for a living).. I lost business and became tangled in policy issues with eBay/PayPal due to loosing merchandise I'd already sold. This seems like it says a lot- but to be perfectly honest.. it all gets worse. This is just a skeleton of Our story. We moved to another apartment in Newhall, CA.. with the financial and physical losses- We are, just now, able to make ends meat.. sort of. We're still living without couches, a bed, a good selection of clothes & such. BLAH! We've tried to contact a few lawyers, recommended by friends/family, but they each informed Us that it wasn't their type of work and to find someone closer to SCV. All and all though- We want Every Possible Thing That We Can Get From Them! We want them investigated, humiliated and most of all- We want the lives that We use to have, that they stole from Us, Back! All and all- We can account for several thousands of dollars that We're out, do to them. Plus thousands and thousands of dollars in medical bills.. Good god! I'll stop talking your head off!
