Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

I noticed something out of the corner of my eyes and saw two little blackish bugs. I killed them and blood was smeared over the sheets. Upon getting out of bed, I found two other blood spots on my side of the bed.

On 7/27/2025, I woke up after spending the night and letting my kids play at splash lagoon (supposedly a friendly resort). I saw blood on my pillow. Upon further inspecting the bed, I saw a live bed bug. I immediately got the manager and showed them the blood and bug. I did get a refund but the psychological horror of worrying about being them home has been absolute torture the past 4 months. This trip destroyed my life and peace of mind.

2025-12-30 Happened at 5:30 AM at comfort inn and suites on Peach Street in Erie. Woke up to find a huge one crawling on the bed. Management moved us rooms and said that they would only be giving a refund if they find more. After visiting this page and seeing other reports from this hotel I will be expecting a full refund.
