May 9, 2019 Time: 12:30 am Ricky at the front desk who said he owned the property was dishonest and rude. He tried to get an extra $20.00 at check-in for a supposedly upgrade room (micro & frige..) which I did not want or booked. But the most important issue was BED BUGS. I also saw an April 2019 review and someone reported Bed Bugs. Apparently they have not taken care of the problem. I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked. A family member was bitten by one in several places and we found other Bed Bugs. After reporting it to Ricky (Front Desk) he said he didn't have another room for us because the hotel was full even though there were not a lot of cars in the parking lot. So we left at 12:30 am.

We booked our stay here because all of the surrounding hotels were booked, July 17- July 22, 2019. The place looked decent. During the first night, I got bit a couple of times, dismissing it as Mosquitoes. The second night, I got bit approximately 5-6 times on my arms, hands/fingers, legs, neck and forehead. I actually killed one of the critters on my pillow. In the middle of the night, I started searching the bedbug reports for Vernon, CT and Red Roof Inn came up with in very first search- 2 months before we were there. I contacted Red Roof Inn Corporate office because after reading the reviews of this place, I knew I would be met with resistance from the owners. We were going to check out, but there were still no acceptable hotels available in the area. I decided to go down to the front desk and get clean sheets. The clerk acted as though she was surprised when I told her of the bites. While en route to the store to buy some bug spray, the clerk went to our room and gave my wife some bedbug spray. I changed the bed sheets, and doused the mattress and area with the spray. I did not get bitten that night. On July 20th (Saturday, we were getting ready to meet up with friends. The clerk came by unannounced and told us to gather our things and move to another room. We told her that we needed notice ahead of time to do this, as we were on our way out for the day. She didn't want to hear this and told my wife to shut her mouth, which did not sit well with me. Things got heated , and she told us to vacate the premises. We gathered our things and left. Needless to say, this was not the way to treat customers who are getting bitten by bugs in your own establishment. This has been reported to the Vernon Health Dept.

Stayed at Red Roof Inn night of Wenesday Sept 25th. (Chose this location for its proximity to Rein's Deli). Woke up early (a little after 1AM on the 26th) with several itchy bites. Saw a bedbug crawling on the sheets--squashed it right away. After giving the bed linens a thorough going-over, I found a total of EIght bedbugs, some of which I killed intact, though my small camera,didn't do well photographing them. Went to front desk about 3AM to report the problem; no clerk on duty and no response to the call bell at the desk. Ended up sleeping on the couch, where I at least didn't get bitten again. Clerk at checkout Thursday morning (he may have been manager/owner) was completely unhelpful. Since I was on a fairly tight travel schedule I didn't stick around to make more of an issue of it. Filed a report online with the booking service through which I reserved the room. Next step=contact RedRoof management directly

My Nephew and I stayed the night 7/8/22 on our way to Maine. We stayed in room 230. I woke up very early in the morning itching with bug bites on me. I went into the bathroom and saw that I had been bitten on my face and arms.. I went back to the bed and pulled back the sheets. Where I saw a bed bug. I was able to squish it in a napkin and took it to the front desk. They seemed to not be very concerned and told me I can come back or call at 9:30 and talk with the manager. I immediately went back to the room got my nephew and belongings and left. I then proceeded to call on and off all day starting around 9:30. Either they didn’t answer their phone or I was told the manager wasn’t there and then given another day to call if I wanted to speak to the manager. The gentleman on the phone was rude and seemed unconcerned about the whole situation. I requested a refund multiple times. I was told they would get back to me after inspecting the room and let me know about a refund. I will be calling the Vernon Health Department first thing Monday morning.

1. March 19th 2AM 2. Manager laughed in my face when I threatened to report her and accused me of bringing bed buds into the room. Bed was HIGHLY INFESTED
