My husband and I stayed at the Natural Bridge Hotel for one night on September Sunday 6th, 2026. We had two small dogs who travel and stay in a pet cage while in any accommodation. Room 311 our room, was also a pet friendly room on the third floor. We were only in the room which had two double beds for about 10 hours, as we and the pups were on walks visiting the area. We checked out of the room by the required time of 10am the next morning. Both my husband and I were bitten by bed bugs however the bites did not appear on our skin until Tuesday. I called the hotel and shared I had received over 60 bites mostly all over both legs and lower torso. The hotel denied there was an issue and said they do not have bed bugs. I requested they have the room we were in thoroughly treated. I slept in the bed closest to the bathroom wall and my husband after a couple of hours moved to the other bed due to his snoring issues. He sustained 12 bites. Our two dogs did not receive any bites, and they were housed in their cage which was also on the far side of the room. I have had a sever reaction to my bites with ugly red raised bumps and blisters with extreme itching. After 6 days the bumps have not yet lessened. My husband's bites are subsiding and has had a less severe reaction. This was a one night trip, we have not recently been at any other hotels in September and have never experienced bed bug bites before. The Hotel is a very old hotel with deterioration, our room looked to be average for cleanliness, there was a very bad smell in the hallways and lobby, though subsided in the hotel room. The elevator at the hotel was also broken and we had to use stairs to the 3rd floor to reach our room. Checking reviews there are complaints of the elevator not working at least a year ago. We did not know when we checked out the next morning that we had been severely bitten by bed bugs and after reading reports since understand that it can take several days for evidence of bed bug bites to show up and especially if you have never been bitten before. We returned home on the Monday and the bites started appearing on Tuesday.
