Date of Incident: Friday, September 4, 2026 Room: 201 Approximately 9:30 p.m. – Arrival: My family and I arrived at the hotel at approximately 9:30 p.m. We checked in, received our room assignment for Room 201, and went upstairs to the room. Between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. – Bed Bug Found: Within minutes of entering Room 201, we found a bed bug. We were not inspecting or searching the room for bed bugs. The bug came out while we were in the room and was clearly visible. We immediately gathered our belongings, returned downstairs, and spoke with the hotel employee about what we had found. During that conversation, I was informed that the hotel was already aware that there had been bed bugs in the room and that an exterminator had previously been called to treat the problem. Approximately 10:00 p.m. – Left Hotel: By approximately 10:00 p.m., my family and I had left the hotel parking lot. From the time we arrived, checked in, entered Room 201, found the bed bug, gathered our belongings, reported it to hotel staff, and left the property, approximately 30 minutes had passed. 10:59 p.m. – Follow-Up Phone Call: At 10:59 p.m. that same evening, I called the hotel again regarding the incident. During the conversations with hotel staff, I was told that they knew there had been a bed bug issue, that an exterminator had treated it, and that they did not know why the bed bugs were still there. My concern is that Room 201 was rented to my family, including my children, despite the hotel having prior knowledge of a bed bug issue in that room and the problem apparently still being present. I have yet to hear back from management.
