Went to lay down around 10am on 1st day of a 5 night stay after working 14 hours. Noticed there were several stains on the bedding, so I went to lift up the covers. From there I noticed some dark spotting under the bedding, and began to inspect the bed more thoroughly. Found more black spotting around base and corners of mattress, corners of box spring, and near headboard on the sheets. After this, I noticed a speck moving around. I zoomed in with my phone and could clearly see it was a small, flat bug with red and brown coloring moving around. I recorded it and took a picture, then walked down to the front desk to alert hotel staff. The front desk clerk was very concerned and immediately came to check it out. I showed him what I found, he took pictures, and said he would be back shortly. After a few minutes he returned with a cup in hand, stating he contacted an exterminator, as well as the hotel owner, and needed to try to collect the bed bug we found. Once he got it in the cup, he left again asking that I try to decide what I would like to do after he returned again. However this time it was the owner that knocked at the door. He did not introduce himself or even attempt to exchange any form of greeting. Immediately he stated "That's not a bed bug, I've been doing this a very long time. That's not a bed bug, just a little brown bug. You need to look it up. When you look it up you will see that a bed bug is different." He then waved without even giving me a chance to respond and turned around walking back to the elevator letting my door close behind him. Immediately after this, I googled "bed bug" and put the first set of images up next to my zoomed in picture, screenshot them side by side. Very clearly they were the exact same bug. I then went back downstairs to show the owner, and his response was to take the cup that had the live, captured bed bug in it and push it to my face telling me to look that is wasn't the same. I refused to get close stating I already knew exactly what it looked like because I had pictures and videos. He continued trying to push the cup up to my face and asked "So what do you want to do then?" I responded saying well I definitely am not staying so I will need to check out. He then turned around angrily and walked away into an employee only room.
