Bedbug Reviews

1. June 11- June 12 2. Management moved us to a different room after we reported multiple bedbug bites and provided video evidence of bugs in our original room. Instead of taking the concern seriously, we were immediately told, “We don’t have bed bugs, that’s impossible.” Any hotel or resort can experience bed bugs, so dismissing the possibility outright rather than investigating the concern was frustrating and unprofessional. After we were moved, we asked about paying an additional parking fee because we had already rented a golf cart for our stay. We were then informed that having both a vehicle and a golf cart was not permitted and that there was no option to pay for additional parking. This was surprising, as the golf cart had already been rented and no such restriction had been clearly communicated beforehand. What made the situation even more difficult to understand was that the resort had vacancies throughout our stay and was actively accepting walk-in guests. Despite available accommodations and parking areas, we were told there was absolutely no way to accommodate both our vehicle and golf cart. With vacant units and even abandoned properties adjacent to the resort, the explanation simply did not make sense from a guest perspective. The timing of these issues was hard to ignore. After reporting the bug concerns and requesting a room change, we were met with resistance regarding parking and accommodations that had not previously been a problem. Whether intentional or not, it created the impression that raising legitimate concerns resulted in less cooperation rather than assistance. The most disappointing part of the experience was not the bites or even the room change itself. Problems can happen at any property. The issue was the way the concerns were handled: denying the possibility of a problem, dismissing guest concerns, and then creating additional obstacles instead of working toward a reasonable solution. As paying guests, we expected professionalism and a willingness to address concerns, not defensiveness and unnecessary complications.
