Bed bug bites were noticed on Sunday, May 24th, which was the third day of a four-night stay. Upon finding the bites I stripped the bed and found a large adult bed bug. I was unable to remove the mattress cover to inspect the mattress further. The second bed did not have any large bugs but the mattress could also not be checked. I immediately called the front desk, who recommended we put our belongings in trash bags and they offered us free breakfast. I had to request trash bags be brought to the room twice before they showed up. After bagging our belongings, we went to the front desk to request a new room. I took the bug in a cup as proof, and they said they could not confirm that we had bed bugs until the exterminator did an inspection. While they were looking for a new room, we had to tell them that we couldn't take our possibly infected belongings into a new room. They told us to put it through the dryer, but we needed to get to work and had to press them to put it through their industrial dryer for us and deliver it to the new room. We were overall disappointed in the response, first that assuming free breakfast was going to make up for finding bedbugs and then us having to be the ones to provide the next steps. Since my room was booked by my company I'm unaware if a refund was issued.
