Stayed from 3/8 to 3/14. Had read reviews online that the hotel was nice and we had a week off. Wife and I live in Manhattan and decided to stay at the resort for the direct water access and to unwind. Did not expect to come back with bedbugs. Night one, wife and I had multiple whelts the next morning. Found blood stains at the seam of the mattress. Immediately went to the front desk to advise. Staff was not particularly helpful. We did get a new room, which I checked the mattress on. We now have bedbugs in our apartment due to this visit. Goes to show that this issue is not limited to cheap motels. AVOID WATERS EDGE.

I am absolutely horrified by our recent stay at Water's Edge Resort & Spa, specifically in room 1331. We stayed March 16-21, 2026. What was supposed to be a relaxing family getaway turned into a stressful and disgusting experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. We woke up our first morning covered in bites—arms, legs, even our backs. At first, we thought maybe it was an allergic reaction or something from the beach, but the itching kept getting worse. That’s when we started to really look around the room. To our shock, we found actual bedbugs along the seams of the mattress and even in the headboard. Seeing them crawling there was absolutely revolting. I’ve never experienced anything like it, and it completely ruined our stay. We had to pack up all of our belongings immediately and seal everything in plastic bags to avoid bringing the infestation home with us. Imagine trying to manage kids while frantically bagging up clothes and worrying that you’re going to carry bedbugs into your house—it was incredibly stressful. Instead of enjoying our vacation, we spent our time dealing with bites, anxiety, and the fear of what we might have brought home. No guest should ever have to deal with something like this, especially at a resort that presents itself as a high-end destination. This was not just an inconvenience—it was a health and sanitation nightmare. I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here to think twice.
