On March 11th I found bed bugs in my room. I had checked in on March 8th and started having an allergic reaction. I sought medical treatment on March 10th as it became quite severe. The doctor said I was being bitten by something but he had no idea what. I did not either, until 1am on March 11th when I woke up to find a bed bug. I was unable to sleep and reported to the front desk as I went to work. They packed my belongings and moved them to another room and treated the room. They laundered all my clothes. I returned to the hotel and checked out. I was billed for my stay. I was called later by the manager and told if I had stayed I would have been given a gift card, and it was a bummer I did not stay. They completely did not understand I was harmed by this and experienced a medically distressing incident that required multiple medications and multiple days of healing and was very uncomfortable and disfiguring. I was offered points that were less than the value of my stay. After I complained about the way they handled this, they got the vice president of the corporate office to call me and send them information. He was slightly better in listening but still just was like well what do you want? As I am here for work I discussed a corporate discount for our frequent business for all of our staff and he immediately said no. I thought I was being magnaminous in not asking remimbursement for my medical bills and insurance costs. And offerring a way for them to get my company to get their staff back into their hotel, but okay just give me points, and lose customers. Overall this was a disappointing experience with a company I previously thought highly of.
