December 26, 2025, 9:30am Discovered a bedbug in a dresser drawer after packing to leave. Reported it to front desk and was told that manager would contact me. Two hours later, I called the desk again and was told to come to the desk. The manager was not helpful at all. She stated that she would have to make an appointment with a pest control company to verify my claim, which would take a few days, then they would consider refunding part of our money. I was not asking for a refund. I was asking for help so I wouldn’t take bedbugs home with me. She offered to have the hotel laundry wash our clothes but did not offer any help for treatment of suitcases, cooler bags, coats, etc. We have stayed at this hotel about 20 times over the years and have never had a problem (or been a problem to them). If the manager had offered suitable help I would have probably let this pass. Instead, she doubted my claim, even after showing her the dead bedbug on a tissue and stated that they don’t rent to homeless people. I don’t even know what that was supposed to mean and found it to be insulting. I told her that I intended to report this to the BBB and leave a negative review and she said, “Go ahead.” I am now en route home and will have to stop for chemicals to treat bed bugs along the way. Once home, I will have to keep everything on the porch to treat before bringing inside. Our clothes will have to be subjected to a hot water wash and dried at the highest temp for 30 minutes and I fully anticipate that this will shrink and fade some of our clothes. So disappointed and angry.
