1. October 15, 2025 at 3:43am 2. When I woke up and pulled back the covers, several very happily-full bed bugs crawled out from under the covers. I couldn't find any bites on me but my cat had been sleeping under the covers and that's the area they crawled out from under. I reported this to the front desk but the teenager there just said he's report it to housekeeping. When I said that he couldn't rent the room, he said he'd tell the manager. Turns out he didn't, per a call later in the day answered by a different person. She was never told. I reported this to Motel 6 corporate and they called them to report it. I was told they'd need to inspect the room to determine if I would get a refund. After that, I called the motel myself and she told me she'd checked and she didn't see any. So, I texted her the date/time-stamped pictures I took of them. Several days later a refund was credited to my account but there was no follow-up to me directly, despite my request that they call me. A refund was the least they could do, given I had to bag up all my clothes, then pay to wash and dry everything on high heat, including my backpack and the cat carrier. I combed out my cat in the bathroom when we got home and didn't find bugs but I'm just praying neither my cat nor I brought any larvae home.
