9/20/2025 Family member woke up to the sensation of bites, and noticed movement on the sheets. We turned on the lights and found a bed bug on the top left corner of the mattress, identified with absolute certainty. We took pictures of it and immediately presented it to the front desk. The desk operator claimed the had no power to refund or change the room and we would need to call the site manager. The site manager was insulting and stubborn. Immediately accused us of lying, and said that “he sees us on the cameras and doesn’t believe us” and that even if he does find a bed bug, we will not be refunded for our remaining nights. Manager did finally come to the room to inspect the mattress. He made a weak attempt to search the sheets; just tossing the top sheet back and forth and did not check under the mattress. We attempted to negotiate a refund further, but he deflected to the property owner and gave weak excuses about a refund being impossible as it was the weekend. Also threatened to call the police if we told other guests that we had found bed bugs.
