08/05/2025 I checked into the Sheridan Hotel by Marriot in Nashville, TN with my two daughters (16 & 12yrs old). We reserved a junior suite for one night and upon checking in we were given Rm # 2045. We checked in kind of late in the evening, around 10:15pm, my daughters were tired, so once we were settled, they both jumped in bed and I opted to sleep on the sofa so everyone was comfortable. While in bed, halfway through a movie the girls had put on to watch, my youngest daughter, who was wearing sleep shorts, started scratching her lower butt cheek and mentioned feeling a bump but wasnt sure what it was or when it appeared. We didnt think much of it, finished watching the movie and went to sleep. When my oldest daughter woke up she discovered that she had bites all over most of her body; behind her knees, on the sides of her torso, her back, neck, thighs, and arms. She woke up itching with fresh bug bites basically everywhere on her body that were not there the night before. I woke up my youngest daughter to get her out of that bed and inspect her for bites as well, which, she of course also had in various areas on her body. It was at this time that we realized that when she had started itching shortly after getting into bed the pervious evening on her butt cheek, she had been scratching a bite from a bed bug. I began investigating, taking photos and gathering evidence of the infestation. I gathered our belongings together and went to the front desk, requesting garbage bags to put what we had brought into the room and to speak with management about the infestation. I asked to speak with a manager, who I then requested a word in private and spot to sit for the conversation as I did not want to alert other guests or create a scene, the manager I spoke with was very sweet and sympathetic about the situation and offered us to change rooms, however, I requested that an incident report be made and discovered that she had little knowledge of the hotel's policies, protocols, and procedures to address the problem and excused herself to go speak to someone about and inquire about the incident report requested. Upon the managers return, I was informed that the hotel does not take incident reports and that I would be contacted by email after the hotel investigated my complaint. While the manager was very sweet and sympathetic towards myself and daughters, the lack of knowledge on handling the complaint was very concerning. I, again, requested some trash bags to put belongings from the room in, the manager returned not with trash bags but with another supervisor who inspected some of the bites that my daughters suffered, and looked at the photographs I had taken, displaying the evidence of a bed bug infestation in the suite we were assigned for the night. He then asked that I text a few of the photos to his personal cell phone and asked if I'd like to change rooms. Considering that our reservation was only for one night, the offer seemed futile and the hotel made no other offers in lieu of the direct OR consequential damages resulting from infestation we were subjected too during the night of our stay at the Sheradon Hotel in Nashville, TN.
