We checked in on July 1 shortly after 3pm. I began searching the bed closest to the air conditioner by looking under blankets, pulling bedding off the bed, checking the mattress seams and then began to slide the mattress down off the box spring. Instantly saw a speck. Looked closer and saw it was a bed bug casing. I have sadly had bedbugs in the past so knew what this was. I am paranoid and thoroughly inspect any hotel room. I grabbed a cup, threw the casing in it, and left the room immediately. Went straight to the front desk and said we will not be staying, said it to not disturb others but we found a bedbug casing and will be leaving. The guy looked at us and had never seen one before and the girl next to him said they had plunkets pest control there the day before. We were not charged for our room and we did also call the main IHG line to inform them. We were given 5000 points. Now, we have stayed here twice previously and even in that room several months earlier. This room does NOT have encasements on the matress or box spring, however one other room we have been in two months earlier did have encasements on their beds.
