On Friday, May 16, 2025 at about 9:15 pm, we pulled back the covers in the bed and found a single bedbug crawling beneath the sheets. It was engorged with blood. We snapped a picture then compared to google images to confirm it was, in fact, a bedbug. We then inspected under the mattress and around the bed frame. Several more live (and dead) bedbugs were located. Unfortunately, this hotel does not have 24/7 staff. We attempted to call and email, but feared that we would not get a response until morning. I quickly reserved a room at another hotel (having to pay 3x more than expected because hotels were full in the area), and we moved to a different hotel. At about 10:30 pm, I received a text from the Prairie Voyager Motel staff offering to move us to a different room. It was too late. I am promised a full refund (check by mail). They have said that they will have the room inspected and treated if needed. I have asked several times if they confirmed and treated for bedbugs. They will not answer that question.
