We spent one night on September 30, 2023. We went to bed about 12:30 am and I was awoken at about 3:30 am because my right ear was very irritated and burning. I went to bathroom and realized that I also had a lump on the right side of my cheek bone. I got back in bed and not long after my right arm started to burn. I decided to get out of bed and turn on the light and there was an adult bed bug on the comforter crawling towards my husband. I immediately got dressed and went down to the lobby to inform the staff. I was met first by the security. I showed him the three welts that had developed on my right arm and he said "oh yeah, you have the battle scars". He called someone to the front desk and informed them our room had bed bugs. The front desk staff tried to assign us to a room on the same floor very close to that room (room 201). I asked for a room farther away and I was assigned to 525. I did not sleep at all in those beds, I sat up in the desk chair until my husband woke up and we could leave. I did not follow up in person in the morning as we were short for time. There was no apology offered at the time and no compensation offered. We really just wanted to get out of there. No one seemed at all surprised. The security guard even made the statement "that's why I do not stay in hotels". I also asked in someone could come to the new room and inspect for bed bugs with us and they refused and act like they couldn't do it.
