Checked into hotel on Friday night 9/22. Spent the night in room 247. Spent all day Saturday out and about. Upon returning to room around 7:30 pm on Saturday noticed that hotel staff had made one bed but not the other and thought that was strange. Pulled back sheets on beds to rest after a long day and discovered several tiny blood streaks on both beds. Went down to hotel lobby to discuss discovery with front desk clerk. Communicated that these stains are often indicative of bed bugs, who feed on blood and are often squished at night (when a person rolls over on them, moves their arm/leg, etc. while sleeping), leaving small blood stains. While discussing with clerk, another guest came up with a question/request and I told her I would come back so that she could attend to them. Went back up to room and observed an actual, live bed bug crawl across the bed. Captured the bug in a cup and brought it down to clerk. Decided that I did not feel comfortable staying at this hotel another night with my children, even in another room. Bedbugs can easily move from room to room. Went back to lobby and informed clerk that we would need to move to another hotel. She apologized for our experience, said the cost of our stay would be refunded, took my phone number, and informed me that the manager would call me if he had any questions. A few days later the bites started showing up on the kids and myself. There were at least 200 bites between the 3 of us. After a week, had not received refunded so after two calls to hotel, got a hold of manager who apologized, said room would be checked by pest control company, and refunded the cost of our stay.
