Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Bed Bugs, Infected Bites, Trip to urgent care. The room was incredibly dirty upon check-in, we had to wipe down everything before unpacking. On 11/8/22 We spotted a Bed Bug on our sheet around 5pm before going out for dinner. We quickly google searched to compare with a photo of a Bed Bug, sure enough it was. We immediately notified the office. The onsite manager spoke with me via phone, but didn’t offer to come into the hotel to help us at all, instead I was told he would be in the next day at 10:00am. We were told by the reception we could move rooms but there was no procedure in place for Bed Bugs and they didn’t know what to do. We had no help to make sure we weren’t transferring the blood sucking bugs to the new room. We were left on our own to deal with it, after googling what to do, we immediately had rush to Walmart to buy cleaning supplies and giant garbage bags for all our clothes and belongings. The new room was just as dirty, stains, black mold in the widows, sliding door, sink area and dead insect exoskeleton on the carpet as well as other bug leavings and what looked like larvae throughout the room on the carpet. We had to fully clean and wipe down the new room as well, this all took approximately 12hrs. After not sleeping at all, we tracked down the manager around 10:00am the following day. We introduced ourselves and he said an exterminator was scheduled to come in. We asked if the exterminator could check our new room after going through the old room (to ensure we didn’t transfer any hitchhikers) the manager confirmed this would be done. Even after following up with the manager, the exterminator was never sent to our new room. As far as we know they didn’t exterminate the laundry room near the pool where we had to wash all our possibly infected clothes, this is the general laundry were all other guests wash their clothes, we also did not see them notify the couple in the adjoining lock off studio about the Bed Bugs found in our original room, these are two bedrooms lock off units. I had two Bed Bug bites that became painful and infected and bursting with pus, I ended up in urgent care with a $400 medical charge and had to use antibiotic ointment for weeks. They sent our luggage for treatment to a local dry cleaner. When we got back home, we were floored once again after calling the dry cleaner to verify what solvents or heat was used (the preferred method to kill Bed Bugs and eggs), only to find out they do not treat bed bugs. The dry cleaner was understandably upset and told me they do not treat Bed Bugs, and that no one told them about Bed Bugs when the hotel employee dropped off the bags, they were only spot cleaned on request and were passed off as their own luggage. This was a total nightmare and has cost us thousands of dollars. We will never stay at WorldMark Cathedral City, The Club Cimarron Golf Resort, Wyndham, Raintree or a Worldmark property ever again after this experience.

How to get rid of Bedbugs at home

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
