Feb 10th to Feb 11th 2023. We checked in after midnight. Our room we was given was not very clean. There was even hair on the pillow case. Staff was alerted to the problem and all they would say is "no open room, no refund". So we cleaned it up best we could. Thankfully we had our own pillows and blankets. Starting at about 10:00 a.m. the room began receiving calls inquiring about if we were staying or going and then it began about 10:20 with the phone calls asking when are we going to be out or saying you need to hurry up and get out.. While I was packing my things in my bags I discovered a few bed bugs crawling around on the sheets. I also at that time wrote a quick note advising the housekeeper if I didn't get to see her that there were bugs in the room and to be careful when stripping it and hopefully so they can have it treated. When the housekeeper arrived I did alert her to the fact that we had found bed bugs and it was captured in a cup on the table. I have pictures of the mess that was in the room the hole in the wall and ceiling and the bugs as well. I noticed that they were cleaning the room to re rent it and not putting it down for treatment. I've worked in a hotel for several years and when you are putting a room down for treatment you don't remake the beds and put fresh linen in there. Again I went to the front office and told them that the room had bedbugs and he shrugged and said oh well he didn't see it so he didn't believe it. I informed him again that I had photos and I could show him and he said you're just trying to get a refund there's no refunds. So this man not only ignored the fact that there was a disgustingly dirty hotel room with bed bugs in it, made a fraudulent $20 charge to bank account on the card that was used to rent the room and for 70 plus dollars a night I at least expected a clean room with no bugs. And if there had been in cleanliness issue or heaven forbid a bug issue I had also expected to at least get to move rooms or be refunded so that I can go elsewhere to stay and not risk infestation of my own home when I return home.
