Overnight stay from 15 Sep to 16 Sep, spoke with customer service Wyndham properties 9/20/2022 @ 11:45 am. I have stayed at many La Quinta properties over the past 30+ years and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. We checked into our room to find that it was filthy. When we approached the front desk, we were told that there were no more rooms available as housekeeping had not finished cleaning any other rooms--they didn't get to this one either. The coverlets were very stained. We were provided two sets of sheets--one for each bed in the room, we did not notice any overt signs of bed bugs while making the beds. Approximately 5 am I am awakened by severe itching, the room had bed bugs!! When I approached the desk clerk, I was told "those aren't bites from bed bugs, you must be allergic to the dogs that were in the room before you checked in". Did I forget to mention that I am a licensed medical provider---I have diagnosed and treated these kinds of bites before; these are textbook bed bug bites right out of a dermatology book. After all this, we were told that there could be no kind of compensation as the room was booked through a third party provider--rhymes with encyclopedia. So not only are we out the money we paid for the room, we provided free housekeeping for the property, and now I am have to suffer severe itching and blisters due to bed bugs. I would caution anyone staying in this hotel, especially room 235 to ensure they have had an exterminator visit the room. I would be more than happy to share photos of the blisters that have now formed on my face, my chest, my arms, my torso and my lower legs. I was graciously provided a plastic garbage back to place my luggage in so as not to transfer the pests to my car.
