On Sunday August 28th, my family & I stayed for 1 night at the Fitzgerald Motel. We've stayed there over the years without any issue. It's incredibly clean, great value, and the owners are very nice. We left the next morning and went straight home. Upon arriving home, my father took his shirt off to change and he must have had 50 bites all over him! They were all over his back, arms, and legs. I immediately thought he was having an allergic reaction to something so I forced him to see a Dr at urgent care. Urgent Care immediately said, "Oh those are bed bug bites" I then asked if it could be something else because this is the first time he's ever had bites like this, they had another DR come in for a second opinion and he immediately said, "Oh those are bed bug bites, he was bitten in a straight line and only bed bugs do that" The Drs then showed us that bed bug bites apparently bite in a straight line and thats how it's easy to differentiate them from others. My poor father is covered in them and Urgent Care instructed us to call the motel immediately to let them know. Well I did call but the owner got very defensive and said it was impossible, then proceeded to yell at me. I ended up just hanging up but then I did my own search and apparently someone else received bed bug bites from the Fitzgerald motel too according to their review. It's a clean motel but that doesnt mean they cant have bed bugs. My advice is to just be careful and check if you go in!
