I booked a stay at Millennium Buffalo to take the Bar Exam in Buffalo, NY. I booked 3 nights (July 25-27, 2022). I arrived on July 25th and stayed there that night. The next morning, I woke up to find a bed bug on my bed. (I have a picture). I immediately went to the front desk to inform them. The staff was incredibly rude, entirely unapologetic and did not even want to move me to a different room. I was told that because it was 6am the manager was not in and housekeeping wouldn't arrive until 7am, so I would just have to wait. I insisted that I would not remain in a room with bed bugs and demanded to move my things. Reluctantly and with extreme rudeness and a ridiculous attitude, they gave me a different room key. Again, this is all on the morning of the first day of the bar exam. I informed them that I would have to be gone all day for the exam and would like to speak to a manager when I returned. Upon my return (around 5-6pm on July 26), I had the displeasure of speaking with a "manager" (BL). Not only was there not a single apology or simple empathetic word, but his attitude was almost accusatory, as if it wasn't true, even though I had a picture of the bed bug (clear as day!! - which the manager refused to even look at!). In fact, the dead bed bug was still on the bed. He was dismissive, rude, nasty, angry and almost immediately THREATENED TO HAVE ME ESCORTED OUT. He claimed I was "getting loud" and that I need to "watch my mouth" even though I was not even close to yelling (he got louder than I did) and did not use any foul language. Multiple times he told me if I did not leave the lobby, he would have me removed even though I still had two nights paid... in a city that I do not know....in the middle of my bar exam days...because I complained about finding a bed bug in their hotel. My mind is still blown. I found a bed bug in a hotel and THEY got angry and belligerent with ME. Unbelievable. I found a room in another hotel for the night and checked out of Millennium Hotel (even though I still had two nights left already paid). I am in discussion with my lawyer about what legal remedies I may pursue against the hotel, but I thought it was important to report the incident here as well. Clearly this hotel has a bed bug problem and they are clearly not dealing with it properly. It truly blows my mind that I was threatened to get kicked out of a hotel in which I still had 2 paid nights remaining, because I complained about having discovered a bed bug in my room. That is how they deal with bed bugs at Millennium Hotel in Buffalo, which means they don't. I can't imagine how many other complaints have been ignored and dismissed as I was.
