1/21/2022 Bed Bugs!!! Review of DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Everything about the stay was pleasant, until I saw a bug crawling on my phone. It was on the screen. I didn't recognize what kind it was. I had never seen one like it. I screamed for my husband to get it, because I hate bugs. He grabbed my phone, and somehow lost the bug before getting it to the bathroom to flush it. I told him I hoped it wasn't a bed bug. He said he didn't think one could see those, so I shrugged it off. The next morning, he woke up with a few itchy bumps. By that afternoon, he had more than twenty different bites. I looked up bed bugs and easily identified what I saw that night as a bed bug. As far as I know there was only the one. I slept under a different blanket, so I didn't get bitten. My husband called the manager to inform her that they had bed bugs. She said she would call back the next day. When she did, she told him the exterminator said there were no bugs. I question whether he could have found just one bug, which is all we saw, not that there weren't more, but that is all we saw. His bites are consistent with what we saw online. To be on the safe side, we and our daughters washed everything when we got home and cleaned our house from top to bottom. So our weekend vacation was ruined by the night we stayed at the Myrtle Beach Double Tree. We are more exhausted than if we had stayed home, and my husband has been itching with these severe bites ever since. I would have never expected this of a Hilton brand. I would expect that even if the exterminator couldn't find the bug, the management would still treat the room to be on the safe side. Hopefully, you won't stay there, but if you do, don't stay in room 292. It hasn't been treated. I will never stay there again!!!
