12/12/2021 My wife and I booked our stay at Hotel Provincial for my best friend's wedding. Our room number was 524 (for reference) the grounds are pretty nice, when we entered the room we were pleasantly surprised on how nice and cleaned it looked. How incredibly wrong we were. Unfortunately we gotten woken up at 3am after feeling itchy and a sense of something being very wrong. We jump out of bed, turned on the lights and pulled the bed sheets back. We didn’t have to look very hard to find a bunch of bed bugs crawling on the mattress and along the edges. I was able to find a big juicy one and squeezed it to find blood gushing out. My wife had a mini panic attack, I quickly called the front desk and they accommodated us to a different room, which we appreciated. Before we left, I placed one of the bed bugs in a tray and left it filled with water so it wouldn't escape. I also took videos of me entering the room, showing the room number and focusing on the bugs all over the bed. Security came upstairs and escorted us to our new room (515, its on the ground floor next to the awning outside that says French Toast). I wasn't expecting what came next. Bed bugs is a serious public health problem and should be taken seriously. I would think that the hotel and its staff would be sympathetic to our situation. The next morning after being unable to sleep the rest of the night I went to the front desk to speak to the manager on duty and instead of being supportive and apologizing for the horrible experience, I was accused of lying and providing false videos. I offered to go into the room with the maid and show her the remains of the bugs on the bed that we had killed as well as the bug that was still there in the tray that I had left filled with water. I even heard her call their inspector/exterminator and overheard her mentioning that they are currently at 80% capacity and that she is closing room 524(the room we were in) up for now. While the housekeeper stayed in the room to speak to the exterminator, I went back down to the lobby once again talk to the manager and to my surprise he denied everything once again and told me there was nothing he could do. This is a cautionary tale to anyone planning on booking a stay with Hotel Provincial and in general, don't let looks deceive you and check every nook and cranny before you lay your head down for the night.
