I checked into room 504 on 7/18/2021, I could tell that the room had not been properly cleaned. Blankets, sheets, floors were filthy. I decided to try and make the best of it as the hotel has a no refund policy and we were at the beach and would not be spending that much time in the room anyway. The next day, 7/19/2021 after a day at the beach we went back to the room to shower and get dressed to go out for the night. It was approximately 3:30 pm when I went into the room to dress. I noticed a dark spot on the headboard of the bed my 9 year old son had slept in. Upon looking closer I immediately realized that it was a bed bug. I took pictures and went down to the front desk. The lady at the desk called the manager who then came and meet me in my room. I showed the manager, Nick, the bug and he immediately got defensive and said that it was a “sand flea”. I showed him more staining on the headboard and bed and he denied that it was bedbugs. I then told him that I would like to check out and get a refund. He refused to refund me ( I am in the process of disputing that) I packed up all my things and left that hotel as soon as I could. The next day I noticed that the hotel had rented out the same room I was in that had bedbugs. The management doesn’t care.

This place is disgusting and swarming with bed bugs. The owners refused to compensate us for the inconvenience of having to disinfect and wash our family’s laundry, bags, plush toys we won on the boardwalk. Not to mention the bites and rashes we got from staying there. If I were local I'd take them to small claims court. We checked around midnight on Saturday July 30th at 12 am, after having unpacked all of our belongings as were getting ready for bed I noticed out of the corner of my eye that there were little bugs crawling on the wall behind the bed in room 201. We immediately went to the front desk and after calling her supervisor, the worker reluctantly changed our room to the 5th floor right after telling us to shake our things before we switched rooms. We inspected the room as best as we could and visibly there appeared to be no bugs when we transferred in there. We had moved back the blanket and looked at the sheets and there appeared to be nothing there. The next two days we were only in the room to shower and change and sleep. The third morning when we woke up we noticed one of those same little bugs on the wall. Upon further inspection we realized that the room we had stayed in was also with bugs. None of my family has ever had any experience with bedbugs so we had no idea what kind of bug these were. We left the hotel and once we got home we did a little research on these bugs and it turns out that they are bedbugs. We also noticed little rashes and bites on our skin as well as our kids. We cleaned and disinfected for days and after putting in a complaint with booking.com, the hotel refused to refund us for the inconvenience of having to disinfect and wash our family’s laundry, bags, plush toys we won on the boardwalk. Not to mention the bites and rashes we got from staying there
