Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

July 18, I got up on the morning we were there, and was pulling the cover up over the bed and saw a bug in the sheet. I had no Idea that it was a bed bug because it was kinda big and I’d never seen a bed bug. So I just threw it out and went to breakfast. About 30 minutes later while I was explaining what I saw to my family we decided to look at the room and see if we could find any more bugs. So we turned out the lights and used our flashlights to look around. Oh my goodness!!!! When we pulled up the bed-skirt it was horrendous what we saw! Bugs, shells of bugs, all of the evidence where there had been another infestation before! It was gross! We immediately grabbed everything from the room and threw it in the trunk and I went and told them. They came down and made me prove to them that there were bugs… but I did ! and I have pictures!

We stayed the night of July 3, 2022. Initially the motel seemed fine. Basic but good. However, at 3:30a we discovered three bedbugs crawling on one of the beds (bed cover and pillow) that necessitated immediate removal to a different room. One looked like it hadn't fed yet. One got blood on the bed cover when we squished it. The night manager was fine about moving us, especially after we showed him the actual bugs. Initially he told us we didn't need to show him "proof" as he believed us which was odd. After we gave the bugs to him in tissue, he wrapped it in multiple layers of packing tape. When we were packing up, we found several more bedbugs on the second bed. We do have a video of one bug crawling on a pillow. We moved to the new room, which after close inspection seemed fine. When I talked to the day manager later that morning, he apologized and said that they thought they had taken care of the problem when it occurred 8 months ago. I found an incident report on this website to confirm that room 103 had indeed had a problem with bedbugs but a year ago, July 2021. Overall, the second room was fine. Hopefully, the problem is just contained to room 103. The people who run the hotel seem very nice. But they have a problem they need to take care of. The manager told us we could check out late since we had been up several hours in the middle of the night, but that there was "nothing else he could do for us." He said that last part multiple times. I did ask for a partial refund because we missed breakfast and would have to eat out. He said that he would do that after he talked to his supervisor. It did not happen.

How to get rid of Bedbugs at home

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
