Room was extremely dirty upon check in. Flight was delayed so I had meetings all week. I’m a CPT1 certified phlebotomist. I asked to switch rooms and they said they were booked. As I was checking in Kim was being told housekeeping hadn’t cleaned 4 rooms and left for the day (8/4/19 @ 14:00). On 8/6 I again asked to switch rooms due to hair all over bathroom. I had stayed a total of 18 out of 120 hrs in hotel due to work. On 8/9/19 @ 12:34pm I was giving a presentation at a clients office when I noticed a bed bug crawling on my clipboard. Everyone saw it and I was advised to contact CDC and public Health (protocol for bringing in a potential nosocomial parasite into a hospital) they advised me to bag up my belongings and throw them away due to infestation. And wear a paper suit out of the lab. Also would be in contact about getting a blood draw panel in the next 12 hours. I arrived at hotel I documented the room via pictures and found the nest. I alerted hotel staff who was lost and did not know what to do other than off me another room. By this fine it’s 19:39pm i was given bags to put what was left of my belongings (after throwing away $900 in valuable belongings) in order to stay in compliance and not jeopardize my license. She (Kim) would not provide me with the last time room was cleaned. I threw away everything and found two more bed bugs. I went down to office to ask what protocol was in which was unknown I was told maintenance wouldn’t be back until 8/12.. it’s was now 23:10 I was given district manager number and was told he was going to call me. CDC called back and I am to follow up with them 8/10.. Totally discussing I have bites on my neck and right forearm.
