May 15, 2019. My husband had a ton of bug bites on his legs for about a day and a half. I started itching a few on my legs that night and mentioned maybe it was bed bugs. He Googled and said the bites looked like bed bug bites. We contacted management for that resort and they brought their in-house pest control guy to check. The manager seemed to encourage that he wasn't finding anything, but once the pest control guy got down to the box springs wood, he did find evidence. We were instructed to go to Walmart (it was about 2am at this point, and that was the only place open) to purchase new clothing because they were going to take all of our items and heat treat it at a nearby plant. I'm not 100% convinced that every piece of clothing was heat treated since we had some items with us that had the original tags on them (including those plastic size stickers) and there wasn't any evidence that they had been subjected to heat. Our two brand new hardshell luggage bags had to be replaced (they replaced them with their luggage). We were up until about 4:30am dealing with this. They changed us to one of the renovated rooms.
