Bedbug Reviews

We stayed at the Emory Conference Center from Thursday night, September 3- Monday morning, September 7, 2026. The hotel was very clean and the staff was wonderful. We travel several times a year and have never experienced this situation. The beds were nice and mattresses had covers to protect them. I checked the mattresses and no residue or evidence of bugs was present. There were a lot of mosquitoes, however this is in Atlanta, GA in the middle of one of the hottest times of the year. The property is also located on a wooded area that probably has lots of pests. On Sunday morning, I woke up with several bites in a straight line on my arm. I have never been bit by bed bugs so I assumed it was an angry mosquito. However, since then, my daughter and myself have had multiple areas pop up (today is Tuesday the 8th of September). We have several areas of bites in a straight line and in clusters on our arms, back, neck and ear. I also have them on my fingers and wrists. The dermatologist identified them as bed bug bites. They are delayed reactions to these, as this is very common. I did check behind the headboard, and there is a dark, musty, dirty area behind this that they must be hiding in. I tried to contact the hotel multiple times without a response, however I also went through hotels.com and submitted the photos and my concerns. I am concerned for the next person who stays in this room and also terrified we brought these home with us without knowing. The hotel DID respond to hotels.com and refunded our entire stay, which I felt was more than generous. I am still nervous that some might have traveled with us and I have kept all laundry outside in the garage until we can be for sure. My daughter woke up with another cluster of bites this morning. This hotel is beautiful and one of my favorites I have ever been to, so I hate to report this but I want others to be aware. They have no other reports so this could just be an isolated incident in the worst, hottest summer (end of summer).

I stayed on a Thursday (8-23-18) night. When I confirmed I had bed bug bites, I called that Saturday and called all weekend. No one answered the phones. I finally got in touch with the manager that following Monday (8--27-18) and informed him of the problem. I was told they would confirm the problem and contact the exterminators. He said he would call me back. Today is 9-13-18 and I still have not heard from anyone!
