Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

My family and I were recently guest at Country Inn Suites by Radisson 3760 East State Road Port Clinton, Ohio 43452 from August 31, 2018- September 3, 2018 during our trip to Put In Bay for Labor Day. Day 1 August 31, 2018 Check In: We noticed the room itself was really quite dirty. There were stains in the bath tub and on bathroom walls. Stains noticed on bed sheets. My husband and I spoke to hotel manager who said there were no more rooms available to switch. Because It was late (approximately 8:30pm) we had to sleep in a dirty room. We had to use our blankets we traveled with from our house. Day 2 September 1, 2018: When we arrived back to our hotel after long day at Put In Bay. We noticed our beds were made with dirty sheets/comforter. The same stains from the first day were still there. We noticed a dead bug in the bath tub and the same stains left in the bathroom from the first day. Trash still left in room, trash can not emptied. My husband and I complained and were told “house keeping does not wash sheets daily but should have cleaned the room”. Customer service was horrible the staff did not offer any additional sheets for the room. My husband spoke to hotel manager who said “housekeeper Moa cleaned our room and he will talk to her tomorrow”. Day 3 September 2: When we arrived back to the hotel once again from a long day out both queen beds were made with the same dirty linen. Stains that were on the bed from the first day were still there. Pillow case with stains were rolled up and tuck behind pillows. We had no towels or wash cloths in our room this time. My husband and I spoke to hotel employee who gave us some towels and wash cloths. When we asked hotel staff why bedding was dirty, she said house keeping does not wash everyday. We explained it’s been 3 days and our linen is still dirty. I had to go to Walmart and purchase cleaning supplies to clean bathroom and room. Day 4 September 3 Check Out: I woke up about 0800 itching my arm. I sat on the edge of the bed a noticed a dead bug on the sheets where my child and I was sleeping. My family and I did check out immediately and notified the hotel manager and corporate in writing. I did send them photos of each day explaining how the room was not cleaned. The manager Shantel S did contact me and said she did her own investigation but did not find any bugs. I am requesting a license company please investigate this hotel for bed bugs. How to get rid of Bedbugs at home

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
