I was leaving for the airport at 3AM and I saw a bug crawling across the covers. It looked kind of like a tick, so I took a picture of it. I googled pictures of bed bugs, and it looked very similar. I showed them a picture of the bug at the front desk and told them I thought it was one. The woman at the desk said that she wasn't sure what it was, but I shouldn't have to deal with that, so she took $60 bucks off the room. I sent a picture to my father, and he said it was obviously a bed bug. I wasn't broken out in bites when I left the hotel, but some have cropped up today - small red bumps.

Room 2203 at 11:30pm on. 8-16-18. I was in bed and got bit by a bug on my arm. I captured bug in a cup, googled it to confirm my suspicion and was horrified that it was indeed a bed bug. I had checked mattress, bottom sheet and area around bed prior to getting settled. Unfortunately this bed had 4 layers to bedding and I didn’t look between individual layers. I found more bugs between the layers of bedding. I immediately called hotel front desk and explained situation. They agreed to move me and had me fill out an incident report. After a sleepless night in new room(which was checked more thoroughly by hotel staff and myself ) I met with the hotel manager and it was confirmed by an exterminator that that room was positive for bed bugs. I received a few nights free at any IHG hotel. Staff was incredibly helpful and apologetic. I understand this kind of thing can happen at any hotel but it just has messed with me psychologically. I also noticed 2 years ago a report was filled for room 2215. Strange to me that it’s the same floor that my room was on that tested positive.
