Mr. Ben the landlord of the duplexes located on W. Church Streed has had complaints before regarding this property from former tenants and current tenants. Incident: Bed Bug Infestation Date of Incident: Start of Complaint February 2018 Course of Action: Contacted the Landlord on first sighting and requested fumigation, he did fumigate but with store products not with professional services. Pregnant tenant requested that the situation be resolved before infant was born. He claims tenant brought the bed bugs with them to the property when there is documentation from previous tenant of the bedbugs existance prior to moving in. Infant was born and bedbugs began to bite the the newborn only few weeks old and there is evidence of bedbug eggs in furnture and baby crib. The request has been to allow tenant to break lease in order to find adequate sanitary dwelling for tenant and family and including reporting the Landlord to City Hall. The next step will be going to Civil Court to pursue getting judgment and to have past rent returned since the issue has not been resolved.
