I awoke the morning of Friday, 1/26 @ 5:30 am, I reached over to grab my phone and while looking at it - a movement on the sheet caught my attention. I noticed a bug and the immediate thing I noticed was it was red in color (having no idea what kind of bug it was). I brushed it off the bed the started searching the bed, pulled over the top blanket that was on top of the comforter and noticed more of the same. I flew out of bed, called down to the front desk with no answer. I then proceeded to walk down to the front desk and I told the guy working the desk what happened. There was absolutely zero compassion and he seemed more annoyed then anything. He offered another room and while he was looking that up, I googled bed bugs and to my horror recognized that exact bug. I let the guy know that’s exactly what was in my room, he proceeded to dismiss what I was saying and said I can’t say that until they have a pest company come in. All of his efforts were spent trying to tell me that was not the case. Meanwhile while I said it 100% was bed bugs, a girl that also worked the front desk was standing there and neither seemed surprised to hear this. I got the impression this was not the first time they’ve heard about this. I kept asking what happens now in which he responded, “I got you another room, what more do you want me to do?”. Being completely appalled by his response, I asked what would he like done if he were in my shoes? I then expressed my frustration that they did not seem equipped to handle a situation like this and I wanted to know what to do with all of my personal items. He said they could send housekeeping in to clean my items (not exactly sure what they would’ve done) but they didn’t come in until 9. I then asked to speak with the manager and was told he doesn’t come in until 9 either. I proceeded to let them know that I was going to contact the board of health, I wanted the manager to call me on my cell when he arrived (gave my cell number) and that I wanted the room charge reimbursed. I was told that would be done. It is now Saturday 1/27 and I’ve yet to receive a call from the hotel manager.

08/22/2022 - woke up with 1-2 bed bug bites, next morning more and then next morning there was no denying they were definitely bed bug bites, characteristic pattern in 3's, head and neck. No one else in our group had bites and we were altogether the entire time except sleeping. When went to the front desk they were also sure likely bed bug bites and the front desk member looked horrified. Our room was changed and did not get one more bed bug bite and we stayed a total of 6 nights, 3 in bed bug room and 3 in new room. Asked about the tests they did and was told it would be "testing" but it was only visual inspection and report reflected that. We took one day washing our own clothes (including my young son's stuffed animal) and anything that could have touched that area of the bed. Asked to be re-reimbursed for those 3 nights and was told by the manager they could not do that based on the pest control visual inspection (that took 2 and 1/2 days to come back in a report) as it would be admitting fault. I had to ask for the report to see it was a Visual Inspection only. On last night (because it took 2 and 1/2 days to get report) he offered to pay for dinner on site but we had reservations off site. Called again to speak to him and he stated he would check with other supervisors what they could do and he never contacted me back. We were calm, cordial and did not make a scene and easily could have given the physical bed bug bites. Just to add I am a Primary Care provider and know what the exam looks like but "the manger" did not want to hear that. Or, even that this was our 2nd stay at an Omni in 4 months, so much for being a "member" and customer service.
