Bedbug Reviews

On August 19, 2017 I reserved a one room with two queen beds. On the evening of the 19th my girlfriend and I enter the room. The room had a musty smell and there was a dehumidifier in the corner of the room. We went to sleep. At approximatley 8:30am I called the front desk to have a late check out and spoke to a male . He made the arrangements for us to check out at 12 noon. At approx. 9:45 am while getting dressed my girlfriend saw a bed bug crawling up the side of bed we had been sleeping in. I was able to capture the bed bug in a tissue to show management. We bagged our clothes that were laying in the floor. After finding the bed bug we then did a more through search of the room and the beds. What we found next was to say the least horrifying. The mattress and box springs on beds were wrapped in black trash bags and tapped loosely with silver duck tape. We then went out and spoke to the staff and advised them of the bed bug problem. I gave the front staff the captured bed bud she in turn handed over the bedbug to the manager. I asked to speak to the manager upon doing so a male came from the office behind the front counter. (The male Never gave his name when requested several times and did not have a name tag). The manager and I then went back to room 117 where I displayed my phone and began recording the conversation. During the conversation the manager admits that there has been a bed bug problem and also admits the bug that was given to him by me was a live bed bug. The manager also states that a pest control company came out a sprayed the building for bed bugs and also stated that the pest control company suggested to wrap the mattress instead of getting rid of the them. The manager stated he would have the pest control company respond back out and see what they recommend they should do with the mattress. I asked the manager if all the mattress were Wrapped in the black plastic trash bags and tapped up with duck tape. The manager said " no quite a few do" see attached video. We then walked out and the desk personnel refunded my money. When I asked for his name and the owners name of the business the manager stated "well if he is going to take it further than that just charge his credit card". I believe that statement was in an attempt to silence my girlfriend and I and to not make any additional statements or reports. I advised that we would be contacting the health department. I also advised that if they attempted to charge my account for the stay I do not give them permission as they had already refunded my account. This business has and continues to allow people to stay at the hotel with the knowledge of bed bugs still being a problem. See attached photos and video of the incident. We called back to the hotel and requested the manager name and was told the manager would not be back til Tuesday. When I ask then who was the man we talked to earlier, I was informed that he was just maintenance.
