Bedbug Reviews

Date: June 2nd, 2017 Initially, the front desk personnel handled the situation poorly and just wanted to move us to another room. They did not seem to be overly concerned even when the actual bed bugs and severely stained pillow was brought down to them. Reservations for hotel were made by a third party (in KC for business) and once they got involved, more attention was brought to the situation. Eventually the Director of House Keeping became involved and he went out of his way to make us feel comfortable; however, once the general manager of both, Sheraton and Westin (Crowne Plaza) became involved, we became very concerned about how properly the situation would continue to be handled until our departure. We wanted assurance that if we brought any of the bugs home with us, the Sheraton would take responsibility for the extermination of the bed bugs. This assurance had been offered by the director of House Keeping. However, the manager was hesitant to take responsibility and even suggested the possibility that we could pick up the bed bugs on the plane on our return home.

July 13th -July 15th Room 717 Friday evening of the 14th I began to itch a welt on my right arm. At first, assumed I had been bitten by a mosquito. Did not sleep very well that night. I was awakened at 2 and at 4 itching all over. At this point, got up into the light in the bathroom, and just could not figure this out. I had welts all over me. I had checked the bed thoroughly at check in on the 13th. On the morning of the 15th, my roommate and I removed the mattress off one of the box springs, and found 2 live bugs. It was later confirmed that day by pest inspection conducted by the hotel, that our room was in fact infested with bed bugs. Apparently, the bed bugs hide best under the headboard and box spring. A difficult place for a guest to check in most cases. This was a horrible experience. I had to see my doctor and go on meds for all the bites. --75 of them!!
