Found evidence of bed bug excrement under our pillow on the 2nd night of our 5 day stay. We presented this evidence to the innkeeper and she said she had never heard of bed bugs (which we did not believe). She did change the bed sheets that day. However on day 4 we found a dead bed bug, presented it to her and suggested she take it to an exterminator to confirm it's identity. She scoffed and insisted she would NOT do that. If we had not paid for our stay up front we would have left the hotel immediately. But we stayed a last night only to have the innkeeper, upon check-out, suggest that we brought the bed bugs with us. Unbelievable. We returned home to our clean environment, popped all of our clothes immediately into the washer to sterilize them. The next day itchy, red bumps began appearing on our heads, arms, and shoulders. We have since started taking anti-histamines to control the symptoms until the bites resolve.
