Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

I rented room 25 on Tuesday 4/19/16 as I am a truck driver and on the road 2 out of 4 weeks. I awoke to a burning in my back. when I turned on the lights, my son checked my back and there were bites (welts). I checked the bed and floor only to see bed bugs on my underwear and on the bed. I killed it and left it for them to see. the office closes at midnight, so my son and I had to leave at 12:30 losing my payment for the room and my 10.00 deposit. My wife called the Meriden Inn the next morning and they sent a housekeeper to check stating no bugs (of course) and will not refund my room. It was disgusting to say the least and a major inconvenience as the business that I was traveling to was in Meriden. I had to then find a place to stay at 1:00am.
