My family checked in on April 15 and was due to check out April 18. The early hours of Tuesday April 16, I noticed a small bug on my bed sheet. Immediately got everyone up (4 children ) and my husband. We inspected our bed an sheets at the time and found NUMEROUS bed bugs in both beds and headboards. The room was infested!!! Called management right away for help. They told us to put all clothes in plastic bags. We were given these bags about 20 minutes after phone call. My husband and I packed up the room while I made my children stay in bathroom. I asked management if she can arrange for my children to go into kids quest while my husband and I take care of the room. She hesitated and gave me a hard time so I decided to just do it in my own. The amount of actions that took place to follow was stressful and exhausting. We threw out what we could and drove home with large clear bags in our trunk. We dropped all our clothes off at a laundry mat to be washed in hot water and dried( most of which came back shrunk ). We had our car washed and vacuumed at a car wash and did the same for all our pieces of luggage. It was a very long day of cleaning. We took every precaution possible to make sure we do not bring these disgusting bugs into our home. The manager at Mohegan sun did zero out our balance and gave us a 10$(Humiliating )gift card per person to have breakfast before we left . I asked her if she would pay for the 2 hours I put my kids in kids quest and said let me see what I can do?? She left for a bit then came back to tell me that they would reimburse me that as well as my laundry fee. I was utterly disappointed how she handled the situation. 8 days later on April 24th is when I noticed our bug bites. The welts on my daughters legs(over 20) , my sons arms, stomach, and face, all my extremities are awful. I have. We have been taking benedryll and putting cortisone on affected areas. The torture that my family endured on what was supposed to be a nice relaxing vacation was unreal!! I am writing this to make everyone aware and hopefully it can prevent this from happening to another person. We have videos of our room with the bugs and pictures of all the bites!!!!

I checked in on Friday September 6th and checked out on Saturday September 7th and I let management know that I had bites all over my body they said they would have the room inspected on Monday September 9th 2019 and get back to me and they did get back to me and informed me that the exterminators confirmed that they were bed bugs in the room they offered to pay for all my dry cleaning

9/19-9/20/2019 As a work incentive trip, 20 of us went to Mohegan Sun. The next day one of our associates was covered head to toe in bites. She didn't notice until she got home. She has been unsuccessful at speaking with anyone or getting anyone to call her back.I have sent multiple emails and called myself to no avail. I am filing a report with the Mohegan Tribal Nation Director of Health now.

I stayed at the hotel for a work conference from Tuesday, April 29th - Friday, May 2nd, 2025. On Wednesday, I woke up with two bites on my arm, but initially thought they were mosquito bites, on Thursday I woke up with more on my other arm. After doing a search of my bed, I lifted up a pillow and two bedbugs fell to the bed. I immediately called the front desk. They had my room switched. When I reached out for more follow-up, I was told a search was done and no bugs were found. When I sent the pictures of my bites, I did not get a response back. My healthcare provider confirmed they were indeed bed bug bites and I was treated accordingly-- never to hear back from Mohegan Sun.

I woke up at 3:31am on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 itching on my chest and neck and face. Because they did not have a king bed when we checked in we settled for two double beds. I was in one and my husband was in the other. Once I began itching and woke up I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and noticed bites. Two on my chest and two on the left side of my neck and face. They are the size of a quarter in diameter. Being afraid of more bites I got in bed with my husband. I then decided to google “Bedbugs and Mohegan Sun” and a plethora of sites, including this one, had reported bedbugs at Mohegan Sun. After reading them, I decided I would take their advice and go downstairs to the front desk to report the bites. When I turned the light back on I noticed something moving on the top of my covers so I grabbed my phone and took a picture and a video of the moving critter. My husband got up and put the critter in a plastic cup and I took it downstairs to the front desk to make a report to management. The assistant manager on duty, Maggie, took the report and promised someone would follow up with me in four days. She took my phone number. She said if I have to go to the doctor or purchase cream for the bites they can reimburse me but that would all have to be done through the manager since she’s only the assistant manager. She then gave me her and the manager’s business cards and told me to expect a call from the manager. She offered to move us to another room but we we’re checking out to go home at 11am so it was pointless to move us to another room for a couple of hours. Besides, at this point I’m traumatized and have PTSD and would not be able to sleep anyway. Since I live two hours from the facility, it was easier to get in the car at 4am to come home than wait around in another room for the sun to come up just to check out so that’s what we did.
