Room 117 from 3/22/19 - 3/28/19. On 3/23/19, I noticed what I thought was a rash on my left forearm. Gradually, more and more whelps appeared. At first, I thought it was a food related rash as I had experience bouts of nausea and diarrhea. I attempted to treat it with Zyrtec, and over the counter (OTC) creams. I then thought it maybe shingles and bought some OTC cream for that. Finally, more and more bites occurred and my right leg got infected. I am on a tight budget, so I did not go to the doctor until the morning of 3/28/19. The doctor informed me that the whelps were insect bites, probably bed bugs. On 3/28/2019, I complained to the General Manager, and showed her my arms and leg. Ms. L said there were no bed bugs in this hotel & if there were, I must have brought them. She also said the infection area I had on my leg was a scrape. I asked her if she wanted to call the doctor to verify, she could. Ms. L declined and went down to the room with housekeeping staff and began to strip the bed. She found 2 adult bed bugs in the foundation of the bed. Ms. L said she would call Orkin Pest Control to treat the room. Hotel staff took the bed apart and stacked the mattress and foundation against the wall. All the bedding was bagged up and thrown away and housekeeping vacuumed the floor under the bed. Ms. L had me inspect all my clothes and baggage. I went through my clothes and luggage and found no evidence of bed bug infestation. However, I threw away one roll a board bag that was by the bed for safety. Ms. L then brought me a large bag to collect my clothing for the hotel to wash. She then moved me to Room 127 after a shower and a change of clothes that was in my vehicle. On 3/29/19, Orkin Pest Control treated Room 117 and then the Orkin man came to Room 127 to do a perimeter treatment in case any bed bugs were transported here. The Orkin man informed me that he found numerous bed bugs behind the headboard of the bed I was sleeping in and that Ms. L had found 2 bed bugs the previous day. So for six days (3/22/19 - 3/28/19), I was tormented by bed bug bites and the only concession I get from this hotel was moved to another room and my clothes washed. I was basically called a liar by management and not treated with any courtesy or respect. I was never offered an apology, any concession to pay for the medical bills and medication or to comp my room for the agony I suffered.
