Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

At 3 a.m. felt bug crawling on my neck. Pinched it off and took it to the bathroom to examine. Never seen one before. Had gotten bites during the previous three nights but thought they were chiggers or something. Showed it to the manager, who told me that they used a beagle to sniff out bedbugs. Didn't offer a refund. Visited doctor on Monday morning and got confirmation of bedbug bites (and that specimen was bedbug). Called Choice Hotels, filed report, got complaint confirmation number. Now taking clothing to the dry cleaners and hoping for reimbursement and possibly a partial or full refund for our stay.

2:30 am 10/29/23 Bedbug found in bathroom. Immediately brought to front desk where we were told nothing could be done until a manager came in later that morning. Sealed bug in bag. Later in morning brought bug to front desk and was told that the manager was not coming in. Demanded a refund and was refused. Left hotel as fast as we could pack.
