June 18- check in found bed bug after being woken up from being bitten several times on June 19 around 5 am. Had to be moved to a much much smaller room. There's is not enough sleeping space for our number of guests. The staff assured me that i was being compensated just one day of our week stay. Also that the pay was adjusted because we were moving to a room that was a little cheaper. Which they put it in word as a compensation even though it is clearly not! I am still in the process of getting this very inconvenient and very serious matter dealt with to my satisfactory. We've only been here one day and we have been through so many inconveniences! At first we were told the room 1239 was negative for bed bugs which i think was check by maintenance. Then when I let them know that I did put the bug that bit me in a zip lock bag so it could be identified. the situation then turned in to we are treating the room1239 for bed bugs and all of our item that we had to leave in the room as to not spread the bed bugs had to be treated. Then i didn't see any evidence of bed bug treatment on our items from room 1239 that maintenance brought to our new room we were put in. I also made them aware of what if once my vacation stay is over and I return home if the bed bug we got from Caravelle resort are brought into our home then i will be obligated to pay for treatment of my home. Bed bug treatment is expensive! I have pictures, videos, and other proof i have kept up with along the way. Bed bugs is a serious matter and I believe it is being down played by the 2 staff members I have spoken to.
