We were guests of this hotel in April 21-23, 2019 and had a huge issue that the hotel has not dealt with and has been going on for months. Unfortunately, I have misplaced the hotel room number, but the hotel is aware of the situation. Our son was bit by bed bugs, the hotel admitted it when we were there, but once we left, the hotel has denied it. We requested our points back for the 2 nights that we stayed in the hotel, as well as points to be added to our Marriott account, since we had to cut our New England Vacation short and head home to deal with our son. We lost out on our spring break. The hotel has refused. We have spent the last 2 plus months fighting with the hotel. We did not want to take to social media, if we did, we would have the day we left that hotel. After 2 months of fighting and getting nowhere, and telling them we were going to go to social media, the hotel and management left us no choice. We have pictures, doctors notes as well as documented conversations we had with the hotel staff while we were there. If you review bed bugs on any reputable medical journal, our son was a textbook case. • Red, often with a darker red spot in the middle • Itchy • Arranged in a rough line or in a cluster Some people have no reaction to bedbug bites, while others experience an allergic reaction that can include severe itching, blisters or hives. We saw 4 different doctors in NJ since it was not going away and we were concerned we were overlooking something. He was on steroid cream, oral steroid and daily Benadryl, for 2 weeks. Once Spring break was over, he had to go back to school, wearing pants (in the spring heat) and go to the nurse daily for the benadryl cream to be applied, so he could make it thru the day not scratching his arms and legs off. When we were at the hotel and discovered the bits, we were extremely understanding. Bed bugs do not mean a dirty hotel, they are brought in and we get that. We were appreciative how the staff initially handled the situation, changed our room, tried to make our son and us comfortable until morning when we could drive home. HOWEVER, once we left the hotel, it was a completely different story. Again, this happened in mid April, it is now July 1st. We have given the Marriott ample time to do right by us, they have chosen not to. We asked for our 2 nights returned in addition to Marriott points credited to our account so we could re-schedule a trip. We could have asked for bills for doctors, medicine as well as the laundry services since we took EVERYTHING immediately to the laundromat to be professionally cleaned, as directed by the Bed Bug Registry. But again, we chose not to. Although Marriott can’t give us back the time we lost on vacation this spring, we did expect Marriott to make it right by us, and they did not.
